Following months of building renovations and the construction of seven clean rooms, testing in several of the new rooms has reached another stage. Air quality testing was performed, and tubing extrusion equipment was moved in a few weeks ago. The equipment has been set up and prepared for the manufacture of tubing for vaccine production and other high purity applications.
Operational Qualification (OQ) is now underway. OQ involves producing tubing according to a set of Standard Operating Procedures relating to start-up, operational, maintenance, safety, and cleaning processes. OQ was conducted in an AdvantaFlex® TPE tubing production clean room during the week of December 6 and more recently in an AdvantaSil® platinum-cured silicone tubing room.
Above, technicians produce AdvantaFlex TPE tubing using new extrusion equipment housed in one of our Warrington operation’s ISO Class 7 clean rooms.
The facility is well stocked with raw materials for both TPE and silicone tubing production.
The next testing phase – Performance Qualification or PQ – will begin soon.
